Illegal Immigration
Illegal immigration is a major problem that needs to be fixed.
Dear Future President,
Jan Brewer once said, “We cannot afford all this illegal immigration and everything that comes with it, everything from the crime and to the drugs and the kidnappings and the extortion and the beheadings and the fact that people can't feel safe in their community. It's wrong! It's wrong!” This situation is unfortunately true today. There are many illegal immigrants in America who are taking away from our great country. As our future president, you need to install stricter border control.
You need to enforce stronger border policies because immigrants are bad for our country. Some immigrants are part of terror groups and want to cause mass terror in America. For example, “A forged Syrian passport with a Greek immigration stamp was found near the body of one of the terrorists who killed 130 people in Paris” (Immigration: peril or promise). This shows that there are in fact some people who move places just to attack the country. Additionally, immigrants move places to get a better job. This, however takes away jobs from actual citizens. In Washington state, apple “producers realized the challenges of hiring through H-2A,[a visa that allows foreigners to work in agriculture in America for part of the year] they turned to workers in the U.S. illegally” (Lost Labor). This proves that some companies hire illegal immigrants because it’s easier than hiring citizens because they don't have to fill out any paperwork. Finally, these immigrants don’t pay taxes. This is a problem because America isn’t getting the money it deserves. “recent immigrants do not pay their fair share of taxes” says the author of the article “Just make them legal already.” This proves that they don’t pay the proper amount of taxes.
As I said before, Mr./Mrs. President, you need to enforce stronger policies on immigration. Though I am only in middle school, I can see that this is a real issue that needs to be addressed. I fear that this topic will only get worse if it is not addressed by someone of great authority.
Sincerely, Todd L.
