Crime Rates in America

Crime rates in America are way too high. Something needs to be done–its not going be easy though.

Dear Future President,

One of our major problems in this country is how we treat each other–whether we are just plain rude or go farther than that. Everyday, people are murdered, injured, robbed, or taken from their families. These things all happen because of other human beings. I know that this is very hard to control, and we never know when a crime is going be committed. Our world would be so much better if we had respect for others. If we don't find a way to fix this, our future america is going to be a terrible place. Just last year, here in Louisville, there were over 80 murders. That number is outrageous. There needs to be more laws, or laws need better enforcement. People are being hurt everyday due to others, and this is crazy. There are around 17,000 murders a year (thats about 45 murder per day) in the United States. There are about 3.7 million burglaries which occur and nearly 800,000 children go missing each year. These numbers are way too high. Everyone who has been murdered has a family, and they have a story. This is really something America needs to correct. Its going to be hard, but it is going to be very worth it. America just needs justice. We should be able to take a walk at midnight without worrying about being hurt or bothered. This is our country and we should not be afraid to live in it.
