Education
Why education is important and needed in kids' lives
Dear future president,
I would like to share with you how passionate I am about education and why it's so important in kids' lives. Some of our past presidents have made promises to better education but they did not. Some said they would add more preschool programs but instead they took away funds that would run the programs. I hope that you will place education at the top of your list. Here are my reasons why I feel education is important and needed in kids' lives.
The government gives schools money to help kids learn. Without that money, teachers won't get paid. The money buys books for the classroom so that our parents don't have to buy them. We have access to school computer labs to do our work. For some kids, this is the only computer that is available to them. Without any of this a kid will not be ready for college.
And of course without a college education, you would not get a good paying job. The type of job you might get is working at a gas station making minimum wage. With a minimum wage job you might not have enough money for your daily needs such as food and shelter. You might not be able to afford a cell phone either. I would hate to see anyone live this way.
Funding from the government also helps scientists with research. Scientists conduct research to find cures for incurable diseases. With out the money more and more people will get sick from that disease and eventually die. I feel this unfair because saving lives should be more important. Scientists would likely feel like they didn't do their best because they didn't have the funds.
I hope that I have shown you why education is so important and needed in kids' lives. Some of our past presidents have made promises to better education but did not follow through with their promise. Perhaps you could end this pattern. Some said they would add more preschool programs but instead they took away funds that would run the programs. I hope you will place education at the top of your list because it is important to kids, to me, and now hopefully important to you too.
Sincerely,
Kayla G.
