Immigration
Ted Cruz once said, ”There is overwhelming bipartisan support outside of Washington that we need to finally secure our borders, enforce our laws, and stop the problem of illegal immigration.”
Dear Mr./Mrs. President,
Given these points, we should slow down regular immigration so that we can focus on our borders instead of looking through immigrants’ bags to find out whether or not they are terrorists. My concern is that we will run out of money paying immigrants for jobs that they shouldn’t get paid as much for. This came to my attention because this has to deal with my future. I don’t want to grow up in a country that can’t pay its workers a fair amount of money. As our next president, I think you should slow down the flow of immigration.
To begin with, it is important that you take small steps to slow immigration. Immigrants are slowly demolishing our nation financially, by killing people, and by coming into our country in wave after suffocating wave. For example, immigrants are costing us hundreds of billions of dollars in cheap labour. Immigrants want us to be payed a lot of money for harvesting crops, cleaning houses, etc, Craig Mellow says, “...many immigrants are at best, cheap labour costing the U.S. hundreds of billions of dollars…” This shows that immigrants are costing us more than we can pay them and that we need to cut the flow of immigrants. In addition, with letting so many immigrants in, we can’t tell who’s who and what’s what. As the previous author stated, “...a terrorist couple killed 14 people in a California shooting.” This shows that we can’t trust some immigrants and must make more thorough checks or stop immigration altogether. Finally, there are too many immigrants. For example, America alone takes in about 484,072 immigrants per year not including illegal immigrants. The Migration Policy Institute says, “...484,072 new, legal entries into the United States”(per year). This shows that there are way too many immigrants coming into America and we should cut the flow to only about 10,000 a year as suggested by President Obama.
As previously stated, I think you should stop immigration or at least slow it down.Even though I am only a middle school student and am too young to vote, I would really like you to consider immigration and its impact on the country. A lot of people would like to get paid a good, fair amount of money for my future job and not grow up in a country that’s broke from paying immigrants all the country’s money.
Sincerely,
Samuel H.
