Dear President of the United States of America,

Have you ever thought twice on how you could help the people you see sleeping on the streets? Thousands of Americans are homeless because a lot of people are not making the effort to help them and some people don’t realize how helping strangers can benefit themselves. A lot of people are not making the effort of helping these homeless people not because they don’t want to but because they don’t have an easy way to do it. There are quite a few homeless shelters in America, but think how much is it helping those homeless people. When they go to a homeless shelter they don’t need to have money to get food and a bed because the homeless shelter provides it for free. They are thinking why should they get a job if they can just get that stuff for free. There is a way to fix this, in order to get a job people need skills or help maybe instead of having homeless shelters there can be a school for homeless people. It is shown that people who are homeless lack skills, are mentally ill, drug addicts, or maybe just don’t know how to handle money (Watson). This is what the school would be used for to handle these problems. Those homeless people would be super thankful and they would feel good because they are now able to support themselves. People don’t realize how helping strangers can benefit themselves or America because if you help a stranger what benefits does it give you? There is a benefit to America though, if more people get more jobs then there will be more people who have money. At the end those people with money will have to give taxes to the government so it helps America. The government asks for people to pay taxes so they can afford transportation and other things (Franco). In a way helping these helpless homeless people actually helps us. It is understood that people don’t want to help or give some of their money to help the homeless because they don’t even know the person who they are asked to help. People won’t help these homeless people they don’t have a reason too. They don’t care if those people die it’s not like they ever knew them. There is a reason people should help the homeless. They are all people just like anybody else just because they live on the streets doesn’t mean that they don’t have feelings or shouldn’t have a house. “On any given night, there are over 600,000 homeless people in the U.S.” wrote Bill Quigley (Quigley). This is another reason people should help the other people that are less fortunate than them. As you’ve now seen homelessness is a big issue in America. There are a lot of problems that are causing these people to become homeless. There are ways to prevent this from happening though. Please take a stand to help the issue of homelessness.
