Police Brutality

This letter is about Police Brutality and how it could and should be fixed.

Dear Future President,

Hello, My name is Aslaniz Porrata. I am 14 years old and I live in Dorchester, MA. I attend the Community Academy of Science and Health high school in Boston Massachusetts.  I am writing a letter to discuss the matter of police brutality in the United States of America.

Police Brutality is one of several forms of police misconduct , which include: false arrest, intimidation, racial profiling, political repression, surveillance abuse, sexual abuse, and police corruption. Although illegal, it can be performed under the color of law.

This could change by police getting a test before they start service and should be tested with a fake situation, for example, for when a young colored kid or any young person is coming forward toward the police officer to see what they would do. I would want this to be changed by you.  I also think that police should have a mental/health evaluation each month of service to ensure they are in a healthy state of mind.

You as the next upcoming president should take this and many letters to come about this topic to heart only because I and many people have lost loved ones to guns by police or abuse from police. To have this problem solve would not only slow down our death rates but it would save the stress and the fear that we wake up to as young people.

Sincerely,

Aslaniz Porrata
