College students in debt due to tuition

Over 44 million people are in debt due to high prices in college tuition.

Dear future president,

Since you have been elected as the United States of America’s new president I assume you will be handling America’s problems. I would like to bring to your attention a problem I find troubling. I would like to talk about the price of college being to high.

I believe college should be free because while sometimes people choose to not go to college others just simply can't afford it. This is a concerning problem for me because I would like to attend college in a couple of years but, me and my family have been struggling for years with not having a home and, not being able to afford most necessities for years, and I fear we will not get to pay for my education in the future. I don’t feel like we should pay just for a better future.

According to http://www.collegedata.com/cs/content/content_payarticle_tmpl.jhtml?articleId=10064 , the average price in tuition and fees for 2015 and 2016 ONLY, ranged from $10,138 at four-year public schools to $11,516 at private schools. This concerns me because even though some might be able to pay this off with no problem, others, like me, are not able to, and according to https://studentloanhero.com/student-loan-debt-statistics/, americans owe almost $1.3 trillion in student loan debt among about 44 million people.Actually the average Class of 2016 graduate has $37,172 in student loan debt, up six percent from last year. That's why i believe you should focus on this problem.

Sincerely, Melvina A.
