Bullying

There is a huge problem with bullying!

Dear President

I have seen lately that in my school and all around America that people have been bullying people. I mean, the movie “Girl Like Her” is a true story and that is about a girl who got bullied so bad she killed herself and at my school a girl told my friend to go kill herself.

I know that we have speeches from people about this topic at schools but is that really helping people?? If any of you were to see this happening statistically only ten percent of you will stand up for the person getting bullied. Almost 2 out of 5 times the person getting bullied will turn to suicide. I really care because not only do I get bullied but one of my best friends got told to go kill herself. I mean what are we doing to help this problem but this is a very bad one.

Cora Delille hanged herself in her family's Ohio home on May 10. In a suicide note, she named four students, including two ex-boyfriends. Friends say she had to deal with name-calling in the halls at school and one student even said she was glad she was dead. Police said they interviewed the students named in the note and found evidence of 'name-calling' - but nothing to warrant prosecution. Cora, whose boyfriend had broken up with her the day before she died, also wrote about feeling unloved at home amid her parents' divorce. This is from a true story and recent to people there is way more that. I could list but we NEED to do something about this. I think that instead of just teachers telling the bullies not to do it again, there should be a harsher punishment.
