Dear Presidential Candidate,

I believe that to many animals are being abused , but not enough people are getting punished.Based on my research I found out too many animals are abused. “Animal neglect situations are those in which the animal's caretaker or owner fails to provide food, water, shelter, or veterinary care sufficient for survival. It can be either deliberate or unintentional, but either way, the animal suffers terribly.” (Animal Neglect).I strongly believe people need to be punished because I have pets of my own. And seeing animals hurt and or killed makes me sad. Especially when they are hurting and or killing the animals on purpose. I know there are certain rules in states, but abusing and neglecting animals should be a federal offense.

Now I’m going to tell you why so many animals die and nobody really cares.Too many animals die a year because they are abused. And no one is getting punished. They are killing animals on purpose. That's not something you should be able to get away with without being severely punished.People might disagree and say “dogs and cats repopulate. They are fine.” But how do you think the animals feel being tortured ,starve, dehydrated, freezing, and even being punched and kicked?Therefore people need to be in more trouble when they abuse animals.

Now I’m going to tell you how you will make this a law.When this bill goes to the House of Representatives they will all vote on this law. Some of the House of Representative people might say no because they don't think this law is as important as all of the other laws.But it really is as important. Once a majority of the House of Representative people say yes , then it will go to the Senate. The Senate's will then vote on this bill. Like the House of Representative some of the senate's will not would not like this bill to become a federal law. They will want to keep it the same, but the majority rules yes. Last the president will look at this bill and say “who would even think this would be a good law?” But what they don't know is a lot of people think this would be a good law. And once the president says yes then this bill will become a law. Therefore abusing/neglecting pets will be a federal offense.

In conclusion animal abuse is a horrible thing and people who abuse animals need to be punished. I have lots of pets and I can't imagine my life without them! And when I watch an ad, commercial , pictures , and even see them it makes me very upset that people can do things like that. I want abusing/neglecting animals to be a federal offense because animals don't deserve to be treated like they are. I will get this law passed by the congress men and women really think about animals dying because of neglect and abuse. You need to focus on this topic because more and more pets are dying because of neglect and abuse.
