Animals used in scientific testing
Many animals are being used in useless testing.
Dear Future President,
I’m writing to address the issue of animals being used in scientific testing. Animals testing is a problem in America because many animals are suffering and dying needlessly , when there are alternative methods available. More than 100 million animals are killed in US chemical and scientific testing every year.. These animals should not be sentenced to die. I encourage you to solve this problem by (input HOW he/she could/should end this). I believe this can leave a bad reputation on our country because of all of the animals dieing.
Animals being used in scientific testing is truly a big issue that we need to take action for. In our lives, animals are very important because we use them for things such as work, transport, food, clothing, etc. On the site for “Education Science” it says in the article, “Animals were widely used for transport.”, “Animals are a great source of leather. This leather is used for making foot wear, belts, wallets bags, furniture etc.”, and also “We consumes many animal’s meat in the part of diet. Though vegetarian diet is good for health, still we consume animal meat for individual reasons. Some of the animals used for the purpose are goats, sheep, camels, buffaloes (beef), pigs(pork), rabbits, fish and many more. Even we consume eggs from birds like hen, turkey etc. These are highly nutritious and beneficial to man.” All of this evidence shows that animals are very beneficial and important in our human lives and should not be used for testing and be killed.
Another reason why animals being used in testing is a bad thing is because they should not be confined and trapped because they are suppose to be free. In another article it states “Animals in labs live stressful, monotonous, and unnatural lives of daily confinement and deprivation. The only changes in their lives may come from being called into a research or testing protocol—which may include an invasive experiment, or a procedure whose endpoint is death.” which shows that it is not good for animals to be confined because they live unnatural lives and end up dead from the procedures. In the same article it also says “The unfortunate aspect is that many of these animals received tests for substances that will never actually see approval or public consumption and use. It is this aspect of animal testing that many view as a major negative against the practice, as it seems that the animal died in vain because no direct benefit to humans occurred.” and this quote says that animals are being used for testing that won't benefit to anything in our public community.
Sincerely,
Anthony karriem
