Letter to Donald J. Trump

Dear, Donald J. Trump, My name is Adam. I was born here in the United States of America at the Kaiser Permanente hospital. I go to Aptos Middle School and after I graduate high school, I would like to work as an animal vet. I have always loved taking care of animals and helping animals in need. The college I am hoping to get into is UCLA, or Stanford University. An issue I am having with my family, is deportation, I believe that just because Someone is Mexican, Muslim, Black, or any other ethnicity/race, it does not mean that they should be deported or treated differently than others. I understand that if someone is illegal then we should figure out a way to solve that problem, but we do want everyone to feel safe and respected. And the whole wall idea that you had, I don't think that it’s going to work. I’m just saying that wouldn't people be able to find hundreds of ways to climb over the wall. And second reason, it’s probably going to take months, maybe years, you're thinking of building a wall that is 1,954 miles long. Imagine children being separated from their parents just because their parents are “illegal.” In all honesty, I don't want to see children being separated from their parents, there has to be another way. We must come together, not apart.

Ethnic Studies @ Aptos Middle School

After the presidential election students in my Ethnic Studies classes were teeming with emotions, questions, and responses. I decided that Letters to the Next President was a great forum for them to be able to emote, pose those questions, and tell Donald J. Trump the kind of president they want him to be.
