Gun Control

Gun control should have stricter laws

Dear Future President,

Did you know 35% men in the United States of America own a gun. I think guns should be harder to get, because there was 48,031 incidents in the United States with guns used in the wrong way. There should be a better background check then right now, because people are using guns in the wrong way.

The second amendment states, ‘’a well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.’’ This quote represents that guns and weapons were only necessary for the protection of yourself, and not to harm anyone else unless it’s self defense. Guns were supposed to be used for hunting and general self defense, but instead people are harming other people with guns.

In August 2016, 90 people were shot and killed in the Chicago area. This tells me that we ‘’the people are using guns in the wrong way’’ so there should be a stop to gun violence. The United States has the most guns in the world we have 270,000,000 guns. Did you also know that 89 people die each day from gun violence?

So to put a stop to gun violence in the United States the president should start making a harder background check so people can’t get guns as easily as right now. We need to put a stop to this because too many people are dying each and everyday.
