Giving schools the materials they need
Schools need materials
Dear future President,
My research is on focusing on schools that don’t have enough money, and this can also reflect on the schools that have teachers that are going on strike for not getting enough pay. But I’m focusing mostly on schools that don’t not having enough materials.
So one part of my research is on how some schools are spending money on technology that is not necessary and that is unused or underused because students are not taught to use it. Budgets that are set for the school is not based on the cost and it should be because when they get average materials that’s better than trying to get the best materials because then that puts the school in debt. Also when thinking they have enough materials they don’t and go spend their expenses on technology and other stuff that is not needed at the time.
Another part of the topic and research is how teachers are not getting the materials they need and also they are not getting paid the good amount for all the things they do need because the school is wasting their money on technology and materials that are not used half the time and are not really wanted or needed by the students teachers and other staff in the school. Principals don't get a lot of freedom to decide how to spend school dollars in ways they know would support their own students and teachers, because "district central offices often control school budgets and those officers sometimes make the wrong decision because they make the decision that they think is best for the school and students educations."
Then, I want would like for you in the most respectful way to listen to my last part of evidence, support, and reasoning about giving students and kids the chance to have a better education. "By using new technology, students could learn to create, connect, and collaborate with students all around the world but buy and use technology that is needed. Learning new skills should be exciting and motivating for teachers so we can pass the same feelings on to our students," says Pat Hensley at teaching.monster.com.
Thank you for listening and taking your time to read my letter and I really hope that you commit to doing this and you were engaged, because there are students out there and I made it as short as I can but still put all my facts and evidence and I’m just glad that I had this chance to actually say what I wanted to say to the future president. And our community, not even, the world will then have a better education and have better futures and careers ahead of them.
Sincerly, Cesar Nieves
