Stop Genetically Engineering and Testing Animals

Dear Mr. President,

In your campaign you did not list protecting animals as a major topic. Everyday animals are being genetically engineered and are being tested on.

Did you know 90 percent of broiler chickens have trouble waking. This is due to genetic manipulation and is terrifying. My solution to this problem is to simply ban genetic manipulation. Many scientists believe genetic manipulation can have irreversible and monumental effects on the whole specie of animal that had their genetic manipulated. It had taken nature over millions of years to create adaptations to a given environment, genetically engineering farm and research animals undos what nature has done.

Animal testing is not most accurate way to test drugs, food, chemical, and other things for human consumption. An animal can not test if a drug or food can be used by a human because an animal is not a human. There are other ways to test food, drugs, and chemicals. Alternatives include; vitro testing, computer modeling, research with human human volunteers, and human-patient simulators. The alternative methods are more accurate and can reduce the number of 115 million animals that are killed in research laboratories.

Hopefully after reading this letter you will recognize the huge problem with genetic engineering in animals and testing animals.
