Student Debt
In the United States, colleges are getting increasingly more expensive by year. By the time students graduate college, their dept is crippling. I think that with help, the rates of college fees will lower.
Dear future POTUS,
In the United States of America, student debt is a major problem. In the society of ours today, you need a college tuition to be successful, and earn money. Many people wouldlike to attend college, but the truth is that they don't have the money to recieve a high end education. Collegedata.com said that the average cost for tuition and expenses for a college is $32,000. Most people don't just have $32,000 so they take out a loan, this is how student debt is created. After four years of college, many people want and need a bachelor's degree. Two more years of college and even more college debt, yay! If we are supposed to get a higher education to be successful in life, why is it so expensive?
Unfortunately, there are also other expenses outside of the student loan. Electrical bills, wifi, car insurance, and rent/mortgage. Expenses are piling and piling up and digging the student into a deep hole that their recent college degree can't dig then out of. Time.com said that student debt can dely students getting married, buying a home, and having kids. "They are also about 20% more likely to say that their debt influenced their employment plans, causing them to take a job outside their field, to work more than they desired, or to work more than one job." Student debt is making students miserable across the nation so I think, with your power, we can make lives better for students by lowering significantly, not completely demolition college rates, just making it so that it is manigible for students to get by without so much debt on top of them. Don't just listen to me, listen to PBS as they further explain the effects of student loans and graduates.
Overall, I think that if we lower student debt, students can live a happy and successful life after college.
Sincerely,
Ben Rodman
