RE: National Security

Dear Mr./Mrs. President,

The world seems to be becoming more dangerous by the minute. With ISIS making their appearance on the news constantly because of a terror attack, the people are realizing that we need to take action. Living in Florida, the Orlando nightclub shooting really shows me how anything could happen at any moment. It makes me worried to think that I’m living in a country where nobody is safe. Even worse, the next generation will grow up with constant fear of living an everyday life. Europe used to be known as a happy place to visit for a vacation, but now many are terrified of the idea.

What many of us are asking for is that our borders become more secured. This does not mean to completely restrict immigration. Our country is a land of different cultures, languages, and religions. That’s the beauty of America! I do think that we should make it a bit harder to get into the country, because at the moment, a lot is going on in the world right now. I also do not think that we should start deporting illegal immigrants. My parents came to this country legally and we do find that it is unfair to come into the country without waiting in line for their turn, but it is simply inhumane to begin to deport millions of people. This would break up families and even communities of hardworking people who love this country. It is wrong that they did it, but it would be even worse for us to send them back to a place that they were running from.

There will always be a risk of some sort of danger or crime, but at this time, I believe the whole world is in shock with the current events have been taking place. When they hit close to home, it gives us a reality check; anything can happen at any time. I want you, Mr/Mrs. President, to keep the American people safe from any dangerous terror groups. Its affected our country and its history forever with the 9/11 airplanes, and it is known that they are still here today. I hope that you can make our country become a safer place for us and the generations to come.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. If you would like to reach me, my address is below.
