Dear Future President,
Racism has to be stopped. Racism has been around for a very long time and it is still happening in the present day. Many citizens are being hurt because of it. They are being judge because they are Latinos, African American, Muslim, and many other races. Many think they are monsters or have low education because of their race. The majority of people behind bars are either Latinos or African Americans. Many have been afraid of Muslims because they believe all Muslims are terrorist. On YouTube there was a prank video that showed a white girl and Muslim girl with a bag. When the white girl asked people if they could watch the bag for her while she gets water they instantly accepted. When the Muslim girl did the same thing people were making excuses on why they couldn’t watch the bag because they believed in the bag was a bomb.
Racism is affecting our city and community because we judge everyone on their race. People believe the stereotypes on Latinos, African Americans, Muslims, and other races. Many storeowners keep an eye on Latinos and African Americans because they think that they would steal something from the store. Many stay away from Muslims because they think something bad would occur if they were around them. Racism only makes people of color seem like the bad guys, which makes others afraid of people living in their city or community. Race shouldn’t define who we are.
