Letter to the Future President

You might not know how many children come to United States alone trying to find a good life. They risk their lives to be here.

Dear future President,

You might not know how many children come to United States alone trying to find a good life. They risk their lives to be here. I am Gilmar, a Hispanic student from Locke High School in Los Angeles, CA. I came from El Salvador three years ago. On the way, I came with my three cousins and without any adults. The reason why I am writing this letter is to tell you that many children risk their lives to arrive in United States, the children are being pushed out their countries by gangsters.

Children risk their lives to arrive in the United States, according to “More Kids Coming into U.S. Illegally on Their Own". That means that they are facing a big risk. Also “More children under the age of 18 are coming into the country illegally. Meanwhile, fewer adults are”. Children risk their lives crossing the border because they don't have an adult with them. They risk their lives because they don't know what could happen when they come into United States. But they hope to have a good life in the United States.

Children from Central America are being pushed out by gangsters in their country. The Mara Salvatrucha is the most dangerous gang in America, but also in the world. In the article “Central America Children Heading to U.S. To Escape Danger” “The Mara Salvatrucha dominates the streets, and they wanted me to join them to sell drugs”, said William Alberto Molina. It means that children come to United States searching for protection because they being pushed out by the Mara Salvatrucha. Police from Central America can't do anything to protect the people because the Mara Salvatrucha control the streets, the Mara Salvatrucha has guns to protect themselves from the police. Therefore children decided to travel into United States. I came to United States because my parents didn't want that I be alone in El Salvador.

Finally was this is a important thing that the president should care about because the Mara Salvatrucha born in Los Angeles, California. When they began the Mara Salvatrucha police just ignored them and they became stronger. The police can't do anything to them because they began to get guns and they began to traffic drugs. When police couldn't stopped them the solution was to send them back to their country. Today the Mara Salvatrucha is the most dangerous gang in the world. I know this because I like to read about gangsters.

Postscripts. I hope that you help to immigrants children to be safe.

Sincerely, Gilmar Molina
