Dear Future President,

When you watch the news and hear about the killings does it not break your heart? When is it going to end, when will it all be under control?

I despise waking up in the morning to watch the news and I hear about the next person being killed by a firearm. I just can't bare to sit and watch the news because i would never want to hear about my family on the news, so why would i want to hear about another ones? Guns should be for self-defense not taking away the lives of innocent people.

I think that before a person is a allowed to purchase a gun you need to run a background check or stop domestic abusers from buying and owning any guns. Training and gun permits should be required. According to procon.com, there were 464,033 total gun deaths between 1999 and 2013: 270,237 suicides (58.2% of total deaths); 174,773 homicides (37.7%); and 9,983 unintentional deaths (2.2%). Firearms are one of the top 12 leading deaths topping liver disease and other diseases.

Some people may say you have the right to bare arms,or just because you make the laws stronger doesn't mean that people still won't break the laws, but that can be fixed,making the laws stronger may make the killings decrease way more.Owning firearms is okay but using to just go out using them to solve your problems is not okay at all.

With that being said we need to stop and think about the problems guns are causing in america today. We can do it,it’s not impossible.
