Immigration

How becoming a U.S citizen should be easier.

Dear future president,

An Immigrant is a person who flees their country permanently or for a certain amount of time to live in a foreign country. Immigrants who come to the United States come here for better lives, not because they want to bring the country down. Most people who come to this country come here for better lives and sometimes they're not always poor. Our country basically started with immigrants so this should not be so hard for immigrants to come here, unless something bad happens where our country gets over populated. People who come here should be checked in case they have anything on their record. People should not always judge somebody's race and for what they are.

Fewer Mexicans are migrating to the U.S. today than in the past.More Mexicans left than came to the U.S since the end of the Great Recession. Between 2009 and 2014, 870,000 Mexican nationals left Mexico to come to the U.S., down from the 2.9 million who left Mexico for the U.S. between 1995 and 2000. Of them moving back to Mexico, most people say that family as the reason for them coming back. About 1 million Mexican immigrants and their U.S.-born children moved from the U.S. to Mexico between 2009 and 2014, and 61% said they had done so to be with family or to start a family, according to the 2014 Mexican National Survey of Demographic

More Mexicans now say life is about the same in the U.S. and Mexico. In 2015, 33% of Mexican adults said life in the U.S. is neither better nor worse than life in Mexico, up from 23% who said this in 2007. Still, about half of Mexican adults believe life's better in the U.S. and 35% of Mexicans said they would move to the U.S. if they had the opportunity and means to do so, similar shares as in 2009. What this could mean is that it is the same as Mexico, so it should be easier to come back. If 33% of Mexicans say that it is the same, then why should be so difficult for them to come here if they know it might be as hard to get a job?

More Cubans are also traveling through Mexico to reach the U.S.The number of Cubans migrating through Mexico to reach the U.S. spiked dramatically last year after President Barack Obama said the U.S. would renew ties with the island nation. This means that people are desperate to come here for a better life and and start fresh.

¨Immigrants are special people, people with the ambition and guts to leave their home to pursue an American dream. We ought to let more of them in¨ says John stossel. Immigrants who want to come here from another country, want a good life, they want jobs, and the want to have the right to practice any religion that they want. Immigrants make our country better because they do the hard jobs that pay little money and are motivated to have a better life most of them end up becoming good citizens and some had made important contributions to this country. This is why I think that becoming a US citizen should be easier.
