Dear Future President,

Hi! Im Julie, I'm a freshman at West Milford High School. I'm on the gymnastics team and earned my varsity letter this year. I'm 15 years old. I’m writing this letter to you because I’m highly against abortion. Did you know there are roughly 1.1 million U.S abortions each year?

Abortions started in the 1800s because the women would try and kill the babies themselves so they started to protect the women.(www.feminist.com) . Abortions became legal in the US on January 22, 1973. There are two types of abortion, the pill and surgical. The pill would feel like a heavy period. Then you would have to see a perfectly formed baby you baby can be up to 8 weeks old to get the pill. The pill is 97% successful.The surgical abortion the baby can be up to 12 weeks old. People get abortion because of rape, unplanned pregnancy, too young, molested by a family member,etc. Even if any of those things happen you should not kill the baby. It wasn't their fault, you can put the baby up for adoption and let it live a happy life. And we do not avoid all health issues by avoiding the reality of another human being” (liveactionnews.org)

Everyone is effected in the abortion. Mostly the infants because you are taking their lives. This unborn baby is a victim of child abuse. When teenagers find out their mothers had an abortion it affects them too. The role of men has been to provide and protect their children now they are confused on what to do. www.life.org.nz Everytime a family member dies the rest of the family is effected. The women has guilt, depression, flashbacks to the abortion, and suicidal thoughts.

To stop abortions we can start a group and talk to people about abortions to the ones who are thinking about having one. We can persuade them out of having one. Or you can stop abortions in general. Birth control was promoted as a way in which women can be equal with men.

Please try and stop abortions. Don’t affect the baby's life for something they didn't do. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
