Dear future president
You should be concerned about the act of equality for women and men.
Dear next president,
All around the world people treat each other differently whether it's by the color of their skin, how they look, or the way they act. Mainly it's how the world treats men differently than women.
In schools men seem to feel uncomfortable when women's bra straps show, but when men sag their pants all the way down to their knees and wear shirts with naked women on them it is okay. Teachers don't do anything about the men, but for the women they have to change their shirt or even their outfit.
Men have always discriminated women from many things, sports for example. In football I don't see a woman on the field, nor baseball. They are finally working on it for a woman pitcher to be in the MLB, but people are discriminating her because of her gender and the color of her skin.
The gender wage in occupation is a big deal too. For example, male surgeons earn 37.76 percent more per week than their female counterparts. In real terms, this means that a female surgeon earns $756 less per week than her male colleague, which adds up to nearly $40,000 over the course of one year. This shouldn't be happening considering she does the same job each and every day the men do.
1 out of 6 women are raped everyday. 1 out of 10 men are raped everyday. Look at the 4 people difference. More women are getting raped than men everyday.Females ages 16-19 are 4 times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault.Women ages 18-24 who are college students are 3 times more likely than women in general to experience sexual violence. Females of the same age who are not enrolled in college are 4 times more likely.1 in 7 women will be sexually assaulted by her husband…Of all sexual assaults, marital rape is the most under reported. Men are raping their own wives because they don't want to do something with them. Why would you hurt a loved one in general?
Sincerely,
Allison Scimeca
