Concussions In The NFL

Concussions in the NFL are a problem and need to be stopped.

Dear Future President,

In the NFL, concussions are an issue that needs to be taken care of. They are getting more and more common and the effects of them are becoming more apparent.

The average NFL player suffers 8 concussions in his career. Out of those players, 40 percent have brain trauma. Now days they are starting to see how big of a deal a concussion is. There are thousands of people suffering from brain damage that played in the NFL, and even some players who have died. People say there is no such thing as a concussion proof helmet. That is true, but there is a helmet that can reduce them greatly.

This helmet is kind of like a car bumper in a crash. It’s outer layer acts like a crumple zone to absorb the hit to the head, instead of the head absorbing it giving them a concussion.

Concussions are affecting the lives of people in the NFL and shouldn’t have to.
