Animal Abuse
Did you know that in the U.S there are estimated to be anywhere from 900 to 2,000 new cases every year of animal hurting in the US, where there are 250,000 animals victims?
Dear Future President,
Did you know that in the U.S there are estimated to be anywhere from 900 to 2,000 new cases every year of animal hurting in the US, where there are 250,000 animals victims? (Not to mention the cases that don’t get reported.) This just shows that animal abuse is a problem in the U.S. We have to find a solution so we can lower the number of cases each year.
You are probably thinking: why should I care? I think you should care because the HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) estimates that nearly 1 million animals a year are abused or killed in connection with domestic violence. I don’t know about you but I think that number is way too high. I know from experience that once an animal is abused in any way they will NEVER EVER be the same.
Most of the effects are that animals die or get really hurt like some have their skin cut, blistered,or are scared. That and if they make it out alive that makes the potential adopter not want it because it looks mean. Then they will spend the rest of their lives in a shelter where they don’t get the love, freedom, or companionship that they deserve.
Did you know that dog fighting became widespread in the US after the Civil War, with professional pit bulls, and increased rapidly in the 1860s, and was a source of entertainment for police officers and firemen? We should inspire more police officers to do their jobs and stop the animal abuse from happening so we can have pets that aren’t scared to live their lives.
We need to find some solutions to help lower the animal abuse numbers.
Please consider the thought about STOPPING animal abuse TODAY.
Sincerely,
Emalee N.
