Dear future president,

Homework is a big deal in this world today, especially what is happening to the kids. I think we should limit the amount of homework we get each day.

There are studies that kids get hurt from too much homework by health problems and way too much stress. It also says that the stress affects the parents, and when that happens it isn't very good! Teachers give us way too much homework, it is practically like extra work that we do for no reason. When kids get too much homework and then go home all they want to do is relax and just sit down, but they have to do homework. Do people not know that when kids get stressed out all they do is cheat? They go home and look up all the questions and don’t learn anything. Has your grandma ever asked you, “Why are there no kids playing outside anymore?” All I know is that my grandma has and the first thing I think of is, because they have too much homework and don’t have time to do that! There are studies on the percent of kids playing outside has gone down by 40%.

Why should we care? We should care because Americans need to be smart especially where we are now in the world. We should care because these are your kids and they are wasting there lives on school and not having fun. God tells us to live our lives to the fullest, and treat everyday like it is you last, but we us kids can’t do that if we can’t even go outside and play. It is said that Finland is the smartest country in the world, and guess what, they have no homework! There are studies that United States grades are usually C’s, when Finland's are usually A’s!

How does this affect the country? It affects the country because, I thought people came to the country to start a new life to have a better life, but do they want to come to the country and not learn to be smart? No! United States is a country where people want to come and be free and to start their lives over, and also have their kids be happy and SMART!!!!!!

Some possible solutions are to limit the amount of homework we get each day. I'm not saying we can’t study, but we shouldn’t be doing unnecessary homework everyday when we don’t get anything out of it. We get something out of studying because it actually helps us learn and to grow in our education. We should take time in school to learn and not to do butt loads of homework during the whole period that we probably don’t even know what to do because the teacher just goes through it really fast.

There are tons of ways why homework is horrible and can hurt kids. I'm not saying that we can’t study at home, but what I'm saying is that we should limit the amount of homework we get. Studying helps us but unnecessary homework doesn’t help us at all.
