Homelessness
How do you do? I chose this topic because I've seen numerous people experiencing homelessness.

Dear Future President,
My name is Gavin, I’m 16 years old, and I’m currently a Junior at a marvelous school called “Oak Hills High School”. I’m writing to you today because I want to discuss an all too familiar topic, homelessness.
¨There are approximately 3.5million people; 1.5million of them are children are experiencing homelessness each year.¨ The reason why this is important to me is because, I’ve seen numerous men and women on the streets of Cincinnati, Ohio. When I was in Elementary School I learned of homelessness, I was taught that homelessness may be due to poor choices but it can also be due to those being conned out of money, food, clothes, water, etc. I want to see something done about this. I also know another reason for homelessness is due to drugs such as cocaine, amphetamine, crystal meth, and much worse.
I’m writing to you because I’ve seen all too many good people experiencing homelessness. “One day when I was little I was exiting a theater with my family I saw a homeless man, I asked my mother if I could give him my change. She said yes as long as I head straight back to her. After I gave him my change I went straight back as told.” One way to stop this from happening to further generations of Americans could be to set up a few more homeless shelters in some tougher places. Another way to stop this is to have monthly patrol for drug dealers on the streets have them arrested for illegal drug trafficking, put into a jail. “Depending on the number of times the dealer has been caught with the substance using and/or selling it the penalty could range from 10-20-life in prison(if bodily injury is followed suit) with a fine of 10-75 million dollars.” After they have served their time we could have them put into a drug rehabilitation facility until they’re sober and know to avoid it at any cost.
If you wish to try and avoid homelessness be sure to know who you can truly trust. Be sure to avoid drugs unless prescribed by a doctor. And make sure not to enjoy alcohol to the point of being a drunk.
There are hundreds of Americans experiencing homelessness, dying from the changing weather, drugs, shooting, and more each and every day. So please help us help the Americans on the streets to prevent future generations from inheriting the lives of their predecessors. Thank you for reading my letter, I wish you luck in leading our country back into the light.
Sincerely,
Gavin
