World problem

Hunger is a big deal that should not happen and needs to be worked on. There should be no reason for hunger. If there are people with billions of dollars out there, they should feel the need to help them.

October 21, 2016

Dear Future President:

I would like to bring to your attention that hunger is a very big deal in the world and in the USA. If there are people with millions of dollars, there should be no reason that someone has nothing. The people with millions should have to help the ones that have nothing. According to research, “1 out of every 6 people feel hunger” everyday and we need to put a stop to that.

There should be no people starving in the US because we have more than enough food to feed them. According to research, “42.2 million Americans live in food insecure households, including 29.1 million adults and 13.1 million children.“ This information shows how many people are actually affected by poverty and hunger.

People starving in the US does not make any sense when we have stores full of food and all of our houses are most likely stocked with food. According to research, “In 2014, 5.4 million seniors or 9 percent of all seniors were food insecure.” This shows that people who have been paying taxes their whole life can't even eat because they have no more money to eat. I think the government should give back to these kind of people.

Some people might say that they don't want to share what they worked hard for. But I think there should be a donate shelter where ALL people bring all the food they don't want and give it to the people that will eat anything just to get something to eat.

Hunger should not be a option and there should always be some way to get food even if it's not the best food. This will help our country because if you help someone, maybe they will help you one day and everybody will help each other. Thank you Mr. President for taking the time to read my letter and take in my opinions.

Sincerely,

Adam Jent
