Gun Violence

In this letter I think gun violence is a huge part in this nation problem and should be put on the next president priorities for the next 4 years.

Dear Future President,

Excuse me 45th president this will only take a few seconds of your time. Gun violence is a huge part of this nation's problem. I’m tired of hearing police sirens out my window thinking that someone I knew got shot. Think of if you was a regular person just like me and one of your family members of someone you knew got shot, you would be devastated. That is how people are feeling everyday because of guns are out on the street.

According to bbc news there are 372 mass shootings in the US in 2015. Those shootings killed 475 people and wounded 1,870. Also there were 64 school shootings. In the US 13,296 people were killed and 26,819 people were injured. From people dieing in 2012 60% were killed by guns in the US, 31% killed by guns in Canada, 18% in Australia and 10% in the UK.

Since 2006, more than 14,500 people have been shot in Philadelphia, a rate of one shooting every six hours. Shootings have declined by 38 percent since 2006, when the rate was one shooting every 4 hours and 22 minutes (philly.com). The most used gun is a 9mm (philly.com).

I'm not say that there should be no guns at all on the street because people do need to protect themselves. There is too many guns out on the street. Then when someone kills somebody their family member or friend will try and seek revenge so that's also why guns are bad. We sit here and call each other family or friends but y'all killing each other. If you're not a cops or in the SWAT and etc you can't have a gun. Also if you did something felonious dealing with a firearm you can't have a gun.

Mrs. or Mr. President I want you to really hear me out, I'm tired of hearing police sirens thinking someone I know got shot and is dead. Also I don't want to be the next kid on the news because I got shot and died now family has to live without out me. How would you feel if you had someone leave your life because of a gunshot. I'm am still young and only in 9th grade so I have a long life ahead of me and please for my sake and others no one wants to die.

Sincerely,

Keith Cardwell
