Stop Homelessness

Dear Future President, Thousands of people are out on the streets without a home everyday. I think you need to find a way to help the homeless so nobody has to suffer. The amount of homeless people in the U.S is too high, and you need to put a stop to it. According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, on a random day in January, 564,708 people were reported homeless. 206,286 people were with a family, and 358,422 people were all alone. 83,170 people were chronically homeless individuals and 13,105 people were chronically homeless individuals. Also studies show, that ⅓ of the homeless are children averaged at about 9 years old. 45,205 were found unaccompanied and homeless in 2014. Most kids that are homeless ran away from home due to domestic abuse, or parents not wanting them. There are too many people without a home that need one, especially the children that are all alone. I also feel that you should help the homeless because they are trying to get back on there feet, but they can’t do it by themselves. According to AntiMedia- 5 Mind Blowing Facts about Homelessness in the U.S, about 25% of homeless people have jobs, but the others can’t get jobs because nobody wants to hire people that are homeless. The homeless people need your help to get off the streets and support themselves. I traveled to New York this summer with my family, and as we were walking we saw hundreds of homeless people with signs asking for money and food on the streets. None of them had good clothes or shoes. I felt very bad that they were out in the hot sun all day without any food or water. By the end of the day, all that the homeless had in their cups were a couple cents. That is why we need to help the homeless. I feel that you need to put a stop to homelessness, because nobody deserves to suffer, especially the children.-Eliza D
