Immigrants should have the same opportunity as us who live the ''American Dream''.

 Dear President,

I'm a teenage immigrant, and I would like to discuss the problems that this country faces in this generation.

By keeping borders open, we are not only providing opportunities for immigrants but also providing opportunities for the citizens of the United States. Even when they come to the U.S. unwanted they still do good things with their lives. There are 93 work occupations in which 20% or more workers are immigrants. We live in an economy where workers move to where they pay you more and they cause lower unemployment. Immigrants work for those lower paying jobs because for them any money is better than nothing.

My new home is in a new country. I know very little of the language and culture. Memories of my old country will be in my heart forever. The love of my old country will always remain. I left for a better life and new opportunities. Hoping to make a bright future for me and my family.

What happens to a family when the father is deported or both parents are deported?

Vanessa Ceceña states that, In November 2011, the Applied Research Center published a report, Shattered Families: The Perilous Intersection of Immigration Enforcement and the Child Welfare System, that explored in great depth the effects of deportation and the increasing number of immigrant children from mixed status families entering the foster care system. Mixed status refers to a family whose members have different immigration status. For example, the parents and the oldest child may be undocumented, whereas the youngest children are U.S. citizens.

According to the ARC’s report, "there are at least 5,100 children in foster care due to a parent being deported or detained. It estimates that another 15,000 children will enter the foster care system within the next five years. The likelihood of these children being reunified with family is slim".

Also we need to help teach the kids that are immigrants that can't speak English. We need more advanced and well trained translating teachers and experts. Immigration is a good thing for our economy because we could make more money and build more houses to expand and have a more advanced, better built society. This is why immigrants are needed because they make America Great.

Thank you for reading my letter.

Respectfully,
