Illegal Immigration

Illegal Immigration is truly an issue, but the way in which you tend to take care of it is no solution to it.

Dear, Mr. Trump

Around 20 or so years ago a man came to this country for a newer and better opportunity at life. Not just for his own being, but that of his future family so they don’t suffer and live in fear the way he did during his childhood. He choose this country as he heard there is many jobs his first job was that of a dishwasher at a local restaurant known as iHop, he would come home dirty with stains on his apron and his hands all dry. Once done he would walk to the apartment he lived in about 10 minutes away through the dry hot climate of Texas. He didn’t care if he were to be deported as long as he was living better than his life back home at Mexico. This man is my father and I am Mexican, and yes both of my parents came into this country illegally but are now legal and my father is a Citizen. I know that you Mr. Trump do not like the idea of immigrants coming into this country illegally. Yes this can cause problems of overpopulation and job loss. However the way you choose to handle this issue is not quite the best. Of what I know of your plan to stop this issue from becoming bigger is by putting wall over the Mexican-American border, and then you proceed with an immediate deportation of around 2 millions illegals, then the ban of Muslims of coming into the U.S. I know that some of your plans are actually quite good, but this certain one on Immigration I do not agree with and believe this will have no change as you’re basically just putting this issue on those from Mexico. Not only will it not permanently stop the problem of immigration, but by also deporting more than a million immigrants you’re basically getting rid of “The American Dream” and the idea of “Liberty and Justice for All.”

The plan of building a wall is not the greatest of ways to handle immigration. There are other people of other countries also coming illegally. There is also people from Europe and Asia whom of which come to America for the same reasons Mexicans do, of whom of which you mostly attack, so why attack 1 race but rather state your issue in a more broad way. Even though you may do this they may come back the same way they did originally. You see of what I’m seeing and hearing of it seems to me as if you don’t quite get the idea of why there is immigrants. The people who founded this nation came in as immigrants. The simple definition of immigration is ,as stated from Oxford, “ The action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country.” Us a nation is based of immigration, and why did we come to this land of America. We did so to be free from the problems of Europe. The Washington Post did an article based off your interview with the talk show 60 Minutes, that was based around the issue of Immigration with you saying that you plan to deport 2 to 3 million illegals and yes you said with Criminal Records. This I agree with we shouldn’t have criminals in this country and if they’re illegal they must go back to their country and in the best case in Prison there too. However According to The Washington Post, “His comments echoed those he had made at the start of his campaign: “When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best,” Trump had said last June when he announced his candidacy. “They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” I strongly believe that Mexico or any other country doesn’t send all the illegals from their country to the U.S. to terrorize us, and yes there are a couple that do that but the main reason why they do crimes is from their decisions. Although yes there is ISIS and cartel groups that come here to transport drugs and with ISIS there is the potential of an attack. But many of the illegals come here for a better life that small margin of illegals that are sent by groups are the ones that need to be sent back to their country and put into jail. Once again though, like Muslims that you want to ban aren’t all here to strike terror into the hearts of the people.

I know that the ban of Muslims entering the United States is good on one hand and on that hand it really is to secure us from another tragic event like 9/11. According to a CNN article, “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on," a campaign press release said.”, but really from doing this you’re going to represent the U.S. as a prejudice based Country from your plan Mr. Trump. You say you want to make America great again. Will from doing that it’s not going to do what you wish to happen. “Making America Great Again,” is what many want as we’re tired of all these racial issues and low jobs rates all of this nonsense. The America that must come back is the America that was once proposed to be. From doing this you’re basically going off from one Terrorist group that being ISIS, and basically categorizing any Muslim of relating to a terrorist group. This is not true at all as many Muslims are fleeing from their homes to new countries as there is terror. As Muslims themselves are going their own religion by committing the sin of leaving their country, and going to a non-Muslim based country. So they they’re going against something that’s so close to them then if they happen to come to the U.S. then get deported. This isn’t what we should have in America. We should have equal rights for everyone no matter if they’re legal or illegal. Everyone deserves a chance at a better life. This is why America was founded it was to be a sort of a safe heaven for anyone who’s in danger, and what’s a new opportunity. So I hope that this letter Mr.Trump somehow changes your perspective or mindset on immigration. As it is an issue, but they way you wish to take care of it is what causes much controversy.

Sincerely, David Camacho
