Women Have Rights

Trump is not for women's rights

Dear Mr. President,

My name is Maren Noble and I am a senior at Benilde-St. Margaret's school in Minnesota. I am writing this letter to talk to you about what it means to be a woman, since obviously you are a man and don't know. Women have been seen as less than men for centuries. You cannot deny what I am saying, because you cannot become to know the daily struggles that we have. You have no right to tell us how to live our life or make decisions for us just as we keep our noses out of your business.

My first point is that even if you don't see it in your daily life, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. You can't see an atom, but we know that it exists. Women need to be respected just as much as a man is respected, but our country has not caught up to this ideal. We say that all are equal and that all women are receiving equal pay for equal opportunities, but statistics show otherwise. It has been proven over and over again that women make less than a dollar to a man's dollar. Statistics don't lie, so you must be the liar.

Abortion is a key topic in women's rights. You have been open about your position on abortion and you are against it in all scenarios. You have never experienced anything close to carrying a baby. You cannot make that decision for a woman. It is her choice what she wishes to do with her life, and you should not be infringing on her freedom to do so. You can persuade people not to do it, but you cannot make a law prohibiting it. It is a right that women have to choose whether or not they want a baby that resulted from maybe a rape or other sexual incident.

On the other hand, you yourself are openly degrading women in a way that is stopping women from gaining respect. You talk about women like they are a sexual object with some comments you have made in privacy as well as during speeches. You are the president now, and you need to act like it. You are no longer an individual person who owns a business and who can say whatever you want. You are the president and you are now responsible for the lives of all the people in the Unites States. I don't think you are prepared for a nation with women who are willing to fight for their rights that you are trying to take away.
