Cost Of Education

The cost of education is way too high and many people cannot afford it.

Dear Mr.President,

I am in 9th grade and college thoughts are closing in fast and something that always pops up is college costs. When people think college costs they think how am I going to pay for that. Teachers and parents always say that education is the most important thing in the world. Lots of people don't have a lot of money so they can't afford to go to college. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to get a college degree and pursue their dream. According to Jeffrey Selingo on the Washington Post website "Students are demanding more services outside the classroom and colleges are providing more amenities to attract applicants". The author also said in another statement that "As late as 2001, when I covered North Carolina higher education as a reporter, a state resident could go attend classes on the flagship campus at Chapel Hill for around $2,000 a year in tuition and fees. Today, tuition and fees are approximately $8,500". In all, I believe that we should focus on the costs of college so our country can be more educated.

Sincerely,

Corbin Vanlandingham
