LOVE IS LOVE

In today's society people are being judged for who they love and how they look.

Dear Future President,

Sexuality has became a big deal in today's society. People have started to come out more, embrace who they are and be proud of who they are. Even though people are able to show who they really are, they might face lots of obstacles along the way. People get disowned from their families, shamed for who they love, and some times even beaten or treating unfairly. The things that people go through on the day to day basis because of their sexuality is sickening. No one should have to fight and plead their case everyday on why they're gay or transgender. No one should be forced to be something that they are not and shamed for who they are. At the end of the day, love is love and that's what people need to realize. When some parents find out that their child likes the same sex, they sometimes feel as if they've done something wrong or that they've failed as a parent, and that's when they start to shame, beat, or disown their own child. If the parent saw that the only time that they failed as a parent was when they disowned or judge their own child things probably would be different. The L.G.B.T community has came a long way in today's society.

They have much more support now, some of which is from the government. The U.S. supreme court found it to be unconstitutional to ban same-sex marriage. Same-sex marriage was legalized on June 26,2015. The white house was even lit up in rainbow colors. This shows that times has really changed over they years. Even other parts of the world has been legalizing same-sex marriage like Brazil, Canada, Spain, South Africa, France, Ireland and many more places. Back in the day being with the same sex was a just "not right" but today its different, and I hope our next President continues to protect those rights.
