Life offers no guarantees, but Abortion offers no chances.

Three to seven months gestational abortion should be considered murder.

Dear Future President,

Abortion is currently legal in California. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy during the first twenty-eight weeks of gestation more commonly known as seven months. A woman has 7 out of the full term 9 months to terminate her pregnancy. At 7 months a baby is in its third and final trimester and begins to respond to light, sound and most of all pain. If a baby was born at this stage of pregnancy it would most likely survive.

A woman goes through seven months of carrying her child and has up until then to choose if it should continue living through birth or if it should be terminated. Senator Sam Brownback states, “We now know that unborn children can not only feel, but their ability to experience pain is heightened. The highest density of pain receptors per square inch of skin in human development occurs in utero from 20-30 weeks gestation.” In the steps of an actual abortion during an ultrasound the abortionist grabs the baby’s legs with forceps. The baby’s leg is then pulled out into the birth canal. The entire baby is born except for the head. The abortionist inserts scissors into the baby’s skull and opens up the child’s skull. The suction catheter is inserted and the brain is sucked out and the skull collapses. This is the process of abortion. Everyday more abortions occur in the US than there were people killed in the 9/11 attack. 3 out of 10 women will have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old. “Blessed” Mother Teresa has also stated, “It is a poverty that a ‘child must die’ so that you may live as you wish.

In the Constitution the eighth amendment protects the citizens of the united states from cruel and unusual punishment. A living child which is unable to speak and defend itself while in the womb is unable to exercise this right. A child that didn’t choose to be brought into this world is punished in a cruel and unusual way. A child is sucked into a vacuum machine or its skull is cut and their brains are then sucked out. If that isn’t cruel or unusual then I don’t know what is. Babies have rights too even as infants in the womb. I understand special circumstances as in being raped, non-consensual due to being intoxicated, tricked into having sex with a compromised condom, financially and mental instability, or illness. I also believe there are other options rather than thinking of abortion first.

Mr. or Mme. President, we need change. Action needs to take place to protect the lives of the unborn children murdered everyday. I understand that abortion cannot and will not be outlawed but I feel there is something you can do. Going into the Planned Parenthood has shown me that abortion isn’t the best or the easiest way out. Abortion should be the last resort and frankly should only be able to be chosen during the first month to two months gestation. Abortion time window needs to be shortened and done in a more reasonable, humane way.

I’ve seen the inside of an abortion clinic with a family member who was going with the intention to get an abortion. She was 3 and a half months pregnant at 16 years old. When the doctor described what was going to happen during the abortion and prepared her for what she was about to go through, she looked horrified. She’s now the mother to a beautiful 4 year old girl who is one of the happiest little girls ever. All children should have the chance to be as happy as she is.

Sincerely,

Samantha
