Abortion- Should We Adopt Instead?
Dear Future President, Abortion should be illegal in all or most cases because it's taking someone's life who never gets a chance to live. It is expensive to build abortion facilities, and can be dangerous. Some religions are against it. Abortion isn't the only choice for women who don't want their child. Adoption is another viable option; however, it depends if you are pro-life or pro-choice. A lot of people think women should be able to choose if they want to have an abortion; I agree that they don't have to raise their child. Think about if one of these children was another Albert Einstein. If they were to die because of an abortion, they never would have had the opportunity to express their ideas and change the world. Between Jews, Catholics, Protestants, and Mormons, three out of the four religions thought abortion was morally wrong. Only Jews thought abortion was acceptable. If you are any of these three religions, you will probably agree with me. I am Mormon, and stand with my church's policy on abortion that the child should be adopted. When some women are raped, they believe they didn't have a choice that they are bearing a child, but they don't have to end the child's life because of it. Fifty one percent of adults call abortion morally wrong. Abortion can be expensive and dangerous. Abortion facilities cost millions of dollars to build, and we don't even need them. We are wasting money on these cases that could be avoided. There are a lot of families that would adopt a child into their family. Even though the complication rate of abortion is only two percent, accidents can still happen. Some doctors may not be qualified for the job, as in the case of Kermit Gosnell, who was arrested for murder and involuntary manslaughter back in 2010 due to his performing of abortions. Abortion is expensive, dangerous, against religions, and voted not acceptable by most adults. Because of all these reasons, abortion should be illegal in the future. Sincerely, Andrew
