Dear Future President,

I believe that people in the United States need to have the second amendment. We are in a bad time in the world where terrorism is on the rise and there are bad people with guns. I think I have the solution to this problem:The Second Amendment. If most people have guns, then the thieves, robbers, and other bad people will hesitate to rob or kill someone. The Second Amendment is a positive in my eyes.

There are some problems with the Second Amendment even if it is good. First, there would be nothing stopping someone to buy a gun and kill people, but with background checks this would stop criminals from legally carrying guns, or people with mental health problems. One thing I suggest is more effective mental health checks that will make sure someone is not out there with mental health problems getting a gun.
