The times must change

Please, fix this , not for me, but for our country

Dear future president,

I have always wondered what use to us all of the things we learned in school would translate to in real life. Sometimes we learn things that will never be useful in real life and I find myself asking myself "what is the point of learning things if we will never have a use for it? " I mostly see it in my math classes. There are so many things they teach us in math that will have no practical applications to real life. Why do I need to know how to use factor polynomial functions? Why do we have to do all these things only to forget?

This has brought me to wonder about student workload in our country.  I have looked into the required math courses, what the standards are for math, and have come across the fact that statistics is not a required course. I was baffled. The one class that could have the most real world application was not a required course.

This is not the only example of education not being able to be used in real life. we have also falsely thought that our education cannot be fixed. We can easily make the math courses more applicable to real life. All I need is you, Mr. president to make this idea  true.
