America Needs Gun Control!
Too many shootings have been happening lately and we need to do something about it! My solution is gun control. Read my article to find out why I think we need to control our guns.
Dear Future President,
As you know, there has been many problems in the United States lately. There is immigration laws, abortion, criminal justice, etc. To me though, there is one big problem that really sticks out to me. That is gun control. Sadly, there has been so many incidents lately having to do with guns that haven’t ended well. Based on that, I think gun control is very important. Here are three reasons why I think we need to control our guns.
My first reason why I think people should have gun control is because to many people have died lately because of guns. You probably already knew that, but did you know that there has been 46, 441 incidents in just 2016? According to the website, Gun Violence Archive, there has been 11, 936 deaths, 24, 772 injuries, and 310 mass shootings. That is crazy! We can’t keep this up. The solution is to have gun control. Gun control is the regulation of guns. That summary says it all! We need to have guns regulated in order to make our world safer. With gun control, we could stop so many homicides. But gun control can’t just help that, it can help many other things too! Read on to find those reasons.
My second reason why I think we should have gun control is because it can protect our cities and states. A way we can help this is by getting good background checks on guns. I think it is ok to own your own gun. But, if you don’t know how to use one and you could be harmful with it, then owning one is not a good idea. Getting background checks can help protect our states, but can still have the 2nd amendment preserved. As you can see, gun control is very important.
My third and final reason why I think we should have gun control is because it can help our youths to succeed and achieve. With so much gun violence going on, it can cause problems for a child. To kids now, shootings are normal, and we are used to it. That is horrible! We shouldn’t be “used” to gun violence. If we have gun control we can set a good example for kids all around the country and make their environment safe. This can help kids achieve their goals and have good childhoods. Gun control can help the USA!
Those are three reasons why I think we should have gun control. It can really make our country a better place. I hope you, future president, can help solve this. It would give America a great deed. Let’s make America a better place!
